On December 8, we held our Annual General Meeting for 2020. Thank you to those who were able to attend.
We would like to start by thanking the 2020 Committee for all of your efforts these last 12 months (and some of you, many many years more). Where it may have been easier to throw in the towel and give the last season a miss, a lot of hard work and hours were put into making sure the season went ahead and that everything ran smoothly each week. Huge thank you again – there would have been no 2020 season without you all. 🌟
We would also like to thank all players, parents, coaches, referees and managers for your patience this past year. Everyone’s efforts, understanding and positive comments has helped reassure that we made the right decision in going ahead.
Our new 2021 Committee has been voted in, and we are excited to have some valuable members return, as well as some fresh new faces to the team.

The 2020 Tilligerry AGM will be held at the RSL on November 30 at 7pm.
We’re happy to announce training and games can resume. No new cases of Covid-19 and things are definitely looking positive. Just need to remind players and families that if they are not well or had potential contact they should stay home. Thanks everyone.
An important covid-19 update. Due to the Covid-19 cases and the situation in the Nelson Bay with thousands of people getting tested for Covid. Our executive committee has met last night and discussed that due to the fact we have a large number of members who interact at the Bay for work, school and socialising, we agreed with full support from our associations to cancel all Tilligerry FC games, both home and away, this weekend to eliminate any risk of further outbreaks in our community and the wider community. This decision was not take lightly and is believed to be the best possible option for players, coaches, managers, committee members and referees, and also the wider community of Newcastle and the Hunter. As far as we are aware there are only 4 cases in the bay so far and they are all related in one family. The testing levels are in the thousands at the moment and we are hoping if it is contained and there are no further cases arising over the next week then we can resume playing the following weekend and for the rest of the season. We hope everyone understands and supports this decision.

Newcastle Football has provided us with these playing dates.
We will let you know as soon as we have more details for our revised 2020 season.
We hope everyone is staying safe and looking forward to coming out the other side of the Covid-19 restrictions that we have all had to endure to ensure Australian’s could achieve the best possible outcome for everyone health.
After a some hard work and dedication from our committee members we finally have some good news to share. Tilligerry FC has this afternoon received approval for our teams to train, this however comes with some restrictions and many guidelines that we must adhere to. Please see attached to read up on, the Northern NSW Football “Return to training guidelines, Level 1” as well as “Covid-19 Information for players & teams”
Information sessions are being set up for our coaches and managers. Only after attending and having been signed off as attending an information session can a coach take to the park to train any teams.
Parents and guardians please note that social distancing is not only required on the fields for our players, it is also required for spectators, parents, siblings etc. If it is required to attend the sports complex we will need to record your attendance as well as the player. We fully understand that some children will require a parent or guardian to attend while their child trains, whether it’s due to the child’s age or any of various other reasons.
Whilst many players will be very keen to get out on the park and get into the training, we understand that others may not want to continue this season. Tilligerry FC and it’s Committee are 100% committed to all our registered members and families and will be continuing to provide the opportunity to play Football IF any form of competition is to go ahead in 2020, taking into account any restriction or guidelines we will be required to adhere to, to protect the health and safety of our players, committee and families. If a season is to go ahead our committee will require support from our parent volunteer’s more than ever to assist in running our game days. We will no doubt receive further information in the near future in regards to any possible season on the back of the Government announcement yesterday in regards to children’s sport.
Any player wishing to de-register for this season please email Troy Morrison before next Thursday 11th June at the following email for the relevant information and we will carry out any refunds required as soon as is practical. Please note – the Active Kids Voucher component of registration is non-refundable. email@example.com
Any players that are hanging around and waiting for a season to start, keep an eye out for future information. If the season does get cancelled at a later date refunds will still be available at a later date.
If football is permitted to restart, Newcastle Football, Macquarie Football & Hunter Valley Football are collectively working toward a plan that may see the fixtures commence early July for 14 rounds of football.
We understand our members are excited to get back on the pitch ASAP.
We will keep you updated as we learn more.
The club will be reaching out for member feedback in the next week regarding the 2020 season … look out for an email from the club.
Football Federation Australia (FFA) today (01/04/2020) advised that, in light of ongoing developments since its original announcement, including stricter measures imposed by the Federal Government in response to COVID-19, the temporary suspension to sanctioned grassroots football competitions and associated training would remain in place until at least 31 May 2020.
